The new club popping up south of there on 441 and 475 will be called "Copa" and will also have a restaurant, "Tropix". The new club location is at 2332 South Pine Ave. in Ocala and the phone # is 352-351-5721. The Copa is set to have there grand opening on Friday Febuary 23rd at 8pm. Just two days after my birthday. Yah, I'll be there to check things out and see what the place is all about. But wait there is more. We had actually been over to check out this club on a previous day-trip to Ocala. I was excited to have a chance to see a crowd in the place, and they had drag shows, always dear to my heart. So we got there at 10:30 and the show was starting at 11pm so we had time to catch a seat. Nick, the Bar Manager, was very welcoming and served our drinks. The club had a cute crowd and was growing quickly as showtime was approaching. The Lady Pearl started the night off old school with a Bette Midler number, and served as the MC for the night. Next up was obvious house favorite, Faith, she rocked with her hot self and finishing out the show was Miss Savannah Georgia. The Night Zone has something for everyone, including a Piano Bar inside the main club. The Night Zone Saloon is also on-hand for a quieter place to play pool and pinball. The Night Zone motto is " Where Everyone is Welcome" as was posted though out the club. The staff was very friendly and I feel went above and beyond to make me and my partner feel very welcome. The Night Zone is located at 9360 South Highway 441, Phone is 352-347-4877. Visit their website online. |

Proving to myself that gay nightlife does exsits in Ocala. My partner and I set out on an adventure. The first stop was The 441 North Lounge where the add states never a cover. I had picked up a copy of T L W magazine where I spotted the place. Not a bad place the friendly guy behind the bar named Stefan, was charming and filled us in on the lastest dish. Turns out that it is the last weekend for the 441 North Lounge. The Gays were packing up and moving, leaving the place to reopen as a Biker bar.
